A Hint of Hollywood

In June 2019 I attended the premiere of The Secret Life of Pets 2, the animated feature film I worked on as a commercial director of marketing for the movie. This is where I met Fresh, the celebrity tailor who designed Kevin Hart’s suit for the occasion, the voice of the ruthless and grumpy rabbit Snowball. (If you haven’t heard of Fresh, you should read this article about his outstanding journey.) After the premiere we stayed in touch on Instagram where he began consistently liking my work.

In December 2019, Fresh calls me up: he wants me to design a pattern to be used on a shirt for John Legend’s turn as a Bai WonderWater spokesperson. To do so, I got the great opportunity to work with David Thomas, John Legend’s longtime Hollywood stylist.

The Final Pattern

The pattern developed over multiple stages, ultimately saturated to match both Rich’s beautifully tailored suit for Mr. Legend, and the colorful art direction of the commercial.
