Finding Inspiration in Someone Else’s Art

OnegWEST is an LA based artist/rapper/producer whose signature move is to combine old school hip hop with new school sound. When I connected with him in 2017 I noticed on Instagram that his visual universe was inhabited by a fun and weary face full of teeth. It made me want to make a pattern of it.I gave him the drawing, he loved it and a few months later he used it as album art for his single “g^12.”
